Behind every great success story is a hard worker. Doug Borror is no exception. It is evident that for more than 35 years Doug has worked hard in the real estate business to maintain a long-standing reputation for experience, consistency of relationships, and superior market knowledge. However, he has also left his mark as an integral leader in the community and raised two successful children along the way.
Doug is so successful in the Columbus real estate market because he knows Columbus. He is a lifelong resident. A graduate of Upper Arlington High School, he went on to attend The Ohio State University where he achieved his goal of “graduating from OSU”. Doug is passionate about OSU and the Buckeyes! “I am an Ohio State Buckeye, through and through. I am a major supporter both emotionally and financially”. In fact, he keeps a toga-clad Brutus statue in his office.
Doug served for nine years as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Ohio State and has also been very active in several other business and charitable arenas of the Columbus community including serving on the board of Columbia Gas of Ohio and Bacinurance Corp., among many others. Doug is committed to the success of his community.
He and his wife, Kim, love Columbus and like to take advantage of all the city has to offer by living in the Short North. From the unique suburbs to the variety of entertainment downtown you are sure to run into them experiencing the city. When they are not taking in a show at Lifestyle Communities Pavilion or cheering on their beloved Buckeyes, they are on the slopes in Aspen where they have a second home. “I am an avid snow skier, I skied 43 days last year”. Their home in Aspen is also where they spend Christmas, a tradition started with his children, daughter Dani and son Donald.
With all his accomplishments in business, Doug is proud of his children’s’ success. His daughter, Dani, graduated from Vanderbilt University and then went on to get her Master’s from The Ohio State University. She now works for Nationwide Children’s Hospital as a Community Relations Specialist. His son, Donald, is a professional ballet dancer in New York. A graduate of The Julliard School, he has recently been accepted into the Master’s program at Columbia University.
Part of leadership involves empowering those around you to succeed and Doug Borror does just that. His community, family and team have all benefitted from his willingness to take risks and guide them to their own successes. Are you ready to join him on the journey?
