Casual Q&A With Lori Steiner

For over 20 years Lori has been an integral part of Doug Borror’s businesses. We recently sat down with Lori to discuss the family-oriented business, their passion for, and commitment to, the growth of their company, and details about the future direction of the Borror brand.

What are you most proud of in your professional career?
I am most proud of what we have created here. It’s service first. Our customers are everything and we do it right, every time.

You and Doug have worked together for many years. How do the two of you make that work?
We share an office and, when we are both in, we make decisions about our business together. We collaborate, we agree, and we disagree until we agree. It’s a process, and we work together until we come to a mutual agreement. Doug likes to call me BASF. If you have seen the ad, you know BASF uses the tagline “We don’t make things, we make them better.” Doug has the vision, and I enhance his ideas and make them work.

How do you spend your time when you are not working?
I am always making a plan … or having fun. Whether I am working on a family trip, the next tailgate, or a dinner party, I seem to be always planning something fun!

Very important question… what tailgate are you most anticipating?
I’m looking forward to all of them because I enjoy hosting and planning each and every one. With that said, I’m most excited for the “lions and tigers and bears” theme for the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Caddy Shack theme for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. We always have a great time and we don’t miss a single home game.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A superhero, of course. I wanted to be Superman! And, on some days I feel like I am.
