Five Reasons We Proudly Call Urban Columbus Home

(And you should too!)

The 11-county Columbus region is home to one of the largest and fastest growing economies in the country. Celebrated as the second strongest metro in the country for job creation, many are proud to call Columbus home. Columbus has been named the 2015 Intelligent Community of The Year and one of the best cities for creative professionals — proof that Central Ohio attracts some of the brightest minds internationally. Our smarts, coupled with the energy and vibrancy of Columbus, make it the ideal city to live.

Grab a Bite

Columbus’ food scene is indisputably the best out there. From breakfast at Mission Coffee to dinner at The Guild House and drinks at Bodega to end the night, there’s something to appease every palate. Many media outlets have been created to keep a close eye on the Columbus food scene for their fellow foodies. Read more about your endless independent dining options with Dine Originals Columbus, where to get the best comfort food with 614 Magazine, and the newest restaurants to hit High Street with Columbus Underground.

Sweat It Out

Take a walk through Goodale Park, squeeze in a class at Yoga on High, or join a running club. Those who affectionately call Cbus home know that they are never without a perfect place to run. After all, we have to find something to work all of the Katalina’s Pancake Balls off.

Shop ‘til You Drop

From small boutiques to large retail destinations, Columbus offers plenty of places to shop. Easton Town Center and Polaris Fashion Place attract thousands of visitors each year with their wide range of retailers. For smaller, trendier boutiques, take a stroll down High Street in the Short North.

Go on An Adventure

Every day of the week there are sites to see, music to hear and adventures to experience in Columbus. Nearly every weekend is a festival celebration during the summer and there’s never a shortage of holiday light shows during the winter. Living in Columbus means a short drive to 11,000 animals at The Columbus Zoo or the botanical landmark, Franklin Park Conservatory.

From painters and sculptors to photographers and musicians, “there is never a shortage of artistic talent in the Short North Arts District.” There’s always a show to see. One of our Short North favorites is the Monthly Gallery Hops which attract people from all over Ohio and are always an afternoon well-spent. We’re proud to call the Arts District home and we think you will, too.
