Your Guide to Italian Village in Columbus, Ohio

Italian Village lies just North of Downtown Columbus and East of the Short North Arts District, and is considered to be one of Columbus’ first suburbs. A mix of old and new, Italian Village offers an eclectic mix of places to eat and drink, local clubs, and things to do.

Mangia

A spot almost as popular for photos as it is for coffee and pastries, Fox in the Snow is an Italian Village must-do.  They offer amazing coffee, and are known for their pastries, including cinnamon rolls, sticky buns, and biscuits with housemade jam. Enjoy brunch at Tasi Cafe and Drunch Eatery + Bar, savor traditional and modern Mexican food at Cosecha Cocina, nosh on some ‘zah at GoreMade Pizza, or grab a burger with a view at City Tavern. For an all-in-one stop, head to The Market, which offers a full-service restaurant and bar, coffee shop, deli, and grocery store.

Bere

The craft beer scene is strong in Italian Village. Seventh Son Brewing has been producing exceptional beers at the intersection of 4th & 4th since April of 2013, and offers brewery tours, tasty cocktails, a rotation of the city’s best food trucks, and an open-air setting with a full patio out back.  A little newer to the scene is Hoof Hearted Brewery & Kitchen, which offers a light-hearted approach to seriously delicious beers, food, and coffee.

Locale Notturno

In addition to its many food and drink spots, Italian Village is home to a couple of popular late night spots where you can meet up with friends and enjoy casual drinks and music. Little Rock Bar offers acoustic music most nights of the week, along with patio space and a small rooftop bar. St James Tavern is a long-running dive bar featuring a rotating tap lineup, a pool table and an eclectic digital jukebox.

Cose da Fare

The streets of Italian Village are perfect for a casual bike ride during which you can appreciate the plethora of historic structures that mix unique architectural features of the old with new.  Several sections of the neighborhood have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places and other areas are being considered. Check out St John the Baptist Catholic Church for some beautiful architecture, spend some quiet time in Italian Village Park, or gather friends to join you at STUMP for one of their unique events surrounding their rare greenery and one-of-a-kind pots and planters, or take on the challenge at Amaze.
