Public Parking Garage at 2nd & High Now Open

Garage is participating in pilot Short North garage parking validation program

The 2nd & High Garage, a 210-space public parking garage with 105 public spaces attached to 985 High, is now open. Open since May, the garage is operated by management company LAZ Parking.

“It’s been great,” says Lori Steiner, President and COO of Borror. “You can go online to LAZParking.com and buy a monthly parking pass or reserve a daily parking spot.”

The entrance to the garage is on West 2nd Avenue, just west of High Street. The garage exits onto the alley behind the building. The garage is equipped with an elevator designated for the garage, and three payment stations on the first floor.

The 2nd & High garage is participating in the Short North validation program, recently extended through October 31, 2018. Guests who park in one of the featured garages between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily and shop at a participating business will get a validation sticker with purchase.  The validation will allow visitors to pay only $1 for the first hour of parking. To find a list of participating businesses, visit ShortNorth.org.

The 2nd & High Garage will double as a drive-through for the flagship White Castle restaurant location set to open this month. The garage offers two separate entrances: one leads to public parking spaces and the other is a drive-through lane for White Castle.

“White Castle guests will loop through and come right back out of the garage,” Steiner explains.

The public parking garage was part of the concept for 985 High from the beginning, Steiner says. The garage replaces a 42-space metered surface lot that had been owned by the City of Columbus. Borror worked closely with Columbus’ Development Department to partner on the new garage, allowing the city to effectively double the number of public spaces.

985 High, located at the corner of West 2nd Avenue and High Street, is an eight-story mixed-use building offering 11,000 square feet of retail, 12,000 square feet of office space, and 105 high-end luxury apartments. 985 High, the residential portion of the building, opens in mid-June.
