From Wildlights at the Columbus Zoo to Charles Dickens: A Christmas Carol at Ohio Theater, here are some of our favorite holiday traditions in and around our city.
A Columbus holiday tradition, Winter Wildlights at the Columbus Zoo allows you to see the zoo in a new light. The spectacular display offers over three million twinkling lights along with holiday activities for children, Santa Claus and holiday fare.
Columbus Children’s Theater presents Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smell, featuring the beloved character of Junie B. Jones. The show offers plenty of laughter and energy for the whole family, along with a lesson in holiday spirit.
Mark your calendars for Charles Dickens’: A Christ Carol, a Columbus tradition for more than 30 years. The Nebraska Theater Caravan is back again to perform the enchanting holiday story and treasured holiday event.
Grand Illumination at Bicentennial Park offers over 200,000 lights along the Scioto Mile. The lights will be set aglow on December 6th with the official illumination ceremony and on display through the end of the year.
The Holiday Hop in the Short North is where you should celebrate the holidays on the first Saturday in December. Join thousands of others to celebrate and partake in an evening of sights, sounds, food, shopping and, of course, holiday fun.
For many, the holiday comes alive with The Nutcracker. Once again, Columbus’ BalletMet will perform the holiday classic, offering fantastic costumes, majestic dancers and beautiful music; this show is designed to captivate an audience of any age.
Easton Town Center’s 15th annual tree lighting takes place November 22 when Santa and his special guest will arrive to illuminate the 50-foot tree located in the center of the shopping area. While there you can start (or finish) your holiday shopping and enjoying the magical festivities of the season found only at Easton.
