Among the factors reversing urban flight is an almost nostalgic longing for neighborhood. The suburban block parties, float-building and backyard games that used to bring neighbors together are scant these days. In contrast, the casual, close proximity to one another and to downtown entertainment that walking communities provide, seems to fill that void for many.
Celebrating these newer communities in Columbus, Borror Properties says “Happy Good Neighbor Day” to some of our new Short North neighbors that make residential living in urban Columbus a delight.
Arch City Tavern, 862 N. High Street
“With pride in our home town, we pay respect to the past while looking toward the future.”
Sit beneath the enormous mural of 19th century High Street and the street arch replica that represents a spanning of the Short North’s past and present, and tell me it gets any better than this. Wake up your taste buds with craft beers like “Epic Escape to Colorado” or “Rivertown Hala Kahiki” pineapple ale, and enjoy fun and fringy menu selections like “Lobster Mac ‘n Cheese” and “Lamb Sliders”.
On Good Neighbor Day and every day, we salute our new neighbor, Arch City Tavern.
Select Specialty Hospital
“Let Hope Thrive”
We honor Select Specialty Hospital, a provider of long-term acute healthcare services, as a Good Neighbor to our future residents at 40 West.
Guided by over 200 local medical directors, and chief nursing officers, Select’s staff members have more advanced competencies, and maintain a lower staff-to-patient ratios as key to promoting recovery from the most critical and complex medical and surgical conditions. These include brain and spinal cord injuries, stroke, post-surgical complications and other conditions requiring intensive care and specialized expertise.
In a world of hospitals the size of small cities, we will be proud to become neighbors to our own 176-bed hospital, nestled right here in Victorian Village, providing personalized care and rehabilitation for some of the neediest among us.
Seventh Son Brewing on 4th and 4th
“Miracle on 4th”
Take a left on 4th , go 4 blocks to 4th and 4th , and find yourself at the Seventh. Confused? Residents of the Truberry on Summit condominiums will get it straight in a hurry, as Seventh Son Brewing is worth the effort and the short hoof from their home on the corner of Summit and First.
Shaped like a boomerang, this one-time auto garage was converted in 2013 and dubbed “Miracle on 4th” upon completion. It boasts “bold and distinctive beers” made in a “simple and efficient 15 BBL steam jacketed brewhouse”.
Seventh Son trucks its fresh brews to just about every trendy restaurant in the Columbus area, but only if you go to the boomerang itself can you soak in the Italian Village atmosphere and dine on cornfed chicken and waffles.
We hail our future Good Neighbor, Seventh Son Brewing, for bold innovation and tasty brews!
