Breaking Ground to Renovate a Historic Icon

The path is being paved to provide a local landmark an updated look and feel. The Borror Properties team has been working hard to maintain and modernize the structure located at 965 N. High Street: The White Castle building.

This historic icon has been at this location for almost 50 years. White Castle, Borror Properties and the City of Columbus established a partnership to keep White Castle in its key location at the corner of 2nd and High Street, while adding more public parking and additional retail, office and apartment uses.

The White Castle partnership intends to submit a plan to the Victorian Village Commission. This plan will include:

  • A new state-of-the-art White Castle restaurant commemorating the company’s deep, local history, which will include open-air dining.
  • A $6 million dollar, 266 space parking garage that will provide 126 spaces for public use.
  • 12,000 square feet of Class A office space.
  • 10,000 square feet of retail space on High Street.
  • 140 contemporary apartments.

The restaurant, retail, commercial and residential uses are planned to spread across 2nd and High Street in seven floors, with an additional four floors above the parking garage at the rear of the Columbus parking lot.

We hope to complete the renovations in 2016, the 95th anniversary of White Castle’s introduction of the famous Slider.
