Doug Borror, the CEO of Borror Properties, is a well-respected presence in the Central Ohio Housing and Development industry. He began his career nearly 38 years ago as a licensed Realtor and has served on many key boards within the community, including the Columbia Gas of Ohio Board of Directors and the Short North Foundation.
Recently, Doug was asked to be the keynote speaker at the Schneider Downs Annual Continuing Professional Education Program at the Polaris Hilton. This annual program and networking event aims to keep registrants current on development and economic trends. Doug spoke on the “Seismic Shift in Housing Preferences,” affecting not only Central Ohio but the entire country as well. This included new housing requirements, urbanization trends, changing psychology of the buyer and the significant decrease in homeownership both locally and nationally. One of the key areas Doug drilled-down was the demographic and generational change in home preferences – and how this shift impacts technology, lifestyle, space, transportation, entertainment and the environment.
Thank you to Schneider Downs for the opportunity to discuss the industry and our developments here at Borror Properties. For more on development trends in the new year, read our Reflection on 2015 & What’s Coming for 2016.
