2017 Year in Review

2017 was a busy and exciting year for Borror! As we continued to lease out our high-end apartment units in Downtown Columbus and across the city, we expanded and added experience to our team in the areas of construction, accounting and management.

Borror President Lori Steiner shares her 2017 highlights and what she’s looking forward to in 2018.

Looking Back on 2017

The Jerome:

Our team leased out all 54 boutique apartment units in this building, located at 2nd and Dennison in the heart of Victorian Village. Residents love the location, only blocks away from the vibrant shops, restaurants, bars and galleries along High Street in the Short North.

303:

Construction was completed on 303, located at the corner of Front and Main streets in Downtown Columbus. This building in Downtown’s trendy RiverSouth district is leasing up as we speak!

The Castle:

We made great strides on The Castle this year. The High Street development, which we first announced in 2016, will be anchored by a new state-of-the-art White Castle restaurant. Plus, we’re very excited to share that Borror will relocate its corporate office from Dublin to The Castle in 2018! The building will also house The Residences at 985 High, an Orangetheory Fitness studio, and a new public parking garage that will open in April.

The Beeker:

We broke ground on The Beeker at 5th and Summit in the Short North. This new development will boast 89 apartments, a restaurant, and local retail tenants. Construction will continue through 2018, with an anticipated opening date in spring of 2019.

Association Management:

This year, we expanded our association management business. We added Senior Living to our management portfolio, which is now over 15,000 homes, condos and apartments. Also, we were listed as the 2nd largest Property Management company in Columbus

Holiday Celebrations:

We ended the year with an amazingly ugly Ugly Sweater Holiday Party! It was a truly a celebration befitting our fun and passionate team.

Looking forward to 2018

A New Home Base:

Next year, Borror will move our corporate offices from our longtime home at 600 Stonehenge Parkway in Dublin to The Castle, at 985 N. High St. in the Short North. As we’ve continued to grow and evolve, our focus has shifted to developments in Columbus’ urban core and only makes sense for us to move our offices to the heart of the Short North.

The Castle:

We are on track to open the new White Castle restaurant in April of 2018, and other retail spaces by the summer! We just recently announced our second retail tenant: Orangetheory Fitness will occupy 3,800 square feet on the ground level along High Street.

985 High:

We’ll be pre-leasing and moving new residents into the residential portion of The Castle during 2018. These Short North apartment units offer a rooftop gathering space as well as a workout facility, among other amenities.

State Street:

We’ll break ground on our new building on State Street near Grant Hospital, our first project in the Discovery District. This multi-use development will be home to a restaurant, office space, and 220 apartments, not to mention an amazing pool and clubhouse.

We want to thank all of our employees and residents for making 2017 such a great year! Happy Holidays!
