Borror and their partner White Castle are thrilled to announce the second retail tenant for The Castle, on track to open in April 2018. Orangetheory Fitness is slated to open Summer 2018 and will occupy approximately 3,800 square feet in the Short North building that will be anchored by a new flagship White Castle restaurant.
Orangetheory is a scientifically designed, one-of-a-kind group personal training and interval fitness concept spreading quickly across the country. Borror President Lori Steiner says the progressive fitness brand is exactly the type of retail partner Borror was seeking for the development, which is poised to become a landmark addition to the urban neighborhood.
“We create amazing places to live. The Residences at 985 High is the perfect location to live—with well-designed ‘smart apartments,’ plenty of parking and an outstanding rooftop gathering space,” Steiner says. “Orangetheory Fitness on the first floor of 985 will now be one more great reason to live in this brand new Borror community.”
Orangetheory franchisee Sarah San Pedro, who opened the first Columbus Orangetheory location in Dublin three years ago, says she’s excited to provide Short North residents with a new walkable workout experience.
“Having the opportunity to open a studio in the heart of the Short North is like a dream to me and my team,” says San Pedro. “We plan to get out in the community and meet neighbors, friends and businesses alike during the construction process so we can grow together.”
San Pedro’s studio at 977 N. High St. will be the 11th Orangetheory location in Columbus. Over 7,500 local Orangetheory members are able to visit all studios interchangeably.
Borror partnered with White Castle to develop this building, which will feature more than 8,000 square feet of street-level retail space, as well as 105 apartments, 12,000 square feet of second-floor office space and a 206-space parking garage, with 104 spaces dedicated for public use.
The flagship White Castle restaurant will replace a longtime location along High Street. The new space will allow for seating for 60 guests, a larger kitchen and an open-concept design, along with free Wi-Fi and flat-screen monitors, and a patio.
The Orangetheory lease was executed by Jake Kozberg and Sydney Federer of CASTO’s State Street Capital Realty, LLC, and Tim Maly of Colliers International.
