Best Places to Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth in Columbus, Ohio

Life is short, eat dessert first! And the good news is that in Columbus, Ohio, there is no shortage of amazing stops to satisfy that sweet tooth. Here are a few of our favorites that are conveniently located throughout the downtown neighborhoods, near many of our Borror properties.

A combination bakery and coffee shop, Fox in the Snow Cafe serves up rustic-style baked goods and hand-poured drinks and was named one of the best coffee shops in America in 2019. While they have three spots throughout Columbus, their location in Italian Village makes it the perfect spot for residents of the Beeker. With everything from Pecan Sticky Buns to Souffled Egg Sandwich and possibly the best coffee in Columbus, you really can’t go wrong with a stop at Fox in the Snow.

Just down High Street from 985 High at the Castle, CRMD describes themselves as, “an exclusive and hype ice cream experience”. But, they don’t stop at ice cream at CRMD. They are the home of the Puffle, which is an egg waffle – served hot! – to hold the rich and creamy ice cream. They just added the crowd favorite Fruity Pebbles to their menu permanently, and trust us you will feel just like a kid again with one taste!

Unless you have been living under a rock, you’ve heard of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream – the hometown ice cream that is beloved throughout the country. Jeni’s ice cream leaves out synthetic flavorings, dyes, and off-the-shelf mixes, leaving a uniquely smooth texture and buttercream body, with bright flavor and clean finish. If you haven’t tried it, we’re not sure what you are waiting for. With locations throughout Columbus (and the country!) you are never too far away, but residents at 985 High at the Castle and Xander on State in downtown Columbus are particularly lucky to have a shop right in the neighborhood.

Although they specialize in classic French pastry & dessert. Pistacia Vera has an unmistakable character all their own. With the German Village location within walking distance of 303 Front, no doubt their macarons and signature coffee will be a regular craving for those with a sweet tooth.

If freshly roasted coffee – hand sourced worldwide! – is your thing, then Winan’s Chocolate + Coffees is probably your place. Pair it with their premium chocolates and it is really a match made in heaven. Those living at 303 Front have some tough decisions ahead of them…or a serious caffeine rush!

The Dolce Vida Ice Cream Factory in the Short North serves up more than 40 artisan flavors made on site at their factory. But this is not your mama’s ice cream … the ever-popular Mangonada is a delicious mix of fresh cut mangos, mango ice cream, chamoy and tamarind. If you are lucky enough to live at 40 West, Dolce Vida is just a short stroll away.

Simply Rolled is Ohio’s first take on serving Thai-Inspired ice cream rolls with custom, housemade recipes, with no powders or premixes and unlimited toppings. It really is a work of art to see these ice cream rolls take shape as they are rolled to order. Conveniently located in the Short North, residents of 985 High at the Castle, The Jerome, and 40 West won’t have to go far to satisfy their sweet cravings.
